Paul Walborsky, Chief Executive Officer
Paul Walborsky brings over 12 years of entrepreneurial expertise to the GigaOM Network. He has founded and built two companies – Grupo Arca, a direct marketing firm for the US Hispanic market, and WorldStreet Corporation, a Client Relationship Management (CRM) and peer-to-peer collaborative communication platform for the financial services industry. Worldstreet was acquired by Thomson Financial in 2002. In addition, Paul held senior positions at major Wall Street firms including Swiss Bank and ING Barings. Paul holds a Masters degree in economics and finance from Brandeis University.



Dan Silmore, SVP of Product & Marketing
Dan Silmore has more than 15 years of marketing and online media experience. Prior to GigaOM, he served as VP Marketing at AllBusiness.com where he was a key part of the executive team that grew the business from start-up through its $55M exit to Dun & Bradstreet. He stayed on to help create D&B Digital, the integration of AllBusiness with Hoover’s Online. Prior to that he was general manager of Dow Jones’ MarketWatch Network of consumer Web sites – MarketWatch.com, BigCharts.com and VirtualStockExchange.com. He had been MarketWatch’s VP Marketing prior to its $519M exit to Dow Jones. Other previous roles include Director of Consumer Marketing for the CBS HealthWatch Web site of Medscape, Inc., and VP of E-commerce Marketing for Wells Fargo’s business Internet services division.



Mike Sly, VP of Sales
Mike Sly has more than 17 years experience in the technology media sector. He began his career at IDG in 1992 working for Publish magazine. Mike was the 10th employee at Red Herring magazine in 1994 and as West Coast Advertising Director went on to help build Red Herring Communications into one the more successful media companies of that decade. He later helped launch AlwaysOn, the events company. He now lives in Saratoga, California.



Michael Wolf, VP of Research, GigaOM Michael Wolf has spent more than 10 years as an industry analyst, starting at In-Stat and launching the company’s consumer networking and digital media research services, and more recently was the digital home practice director for ABI. He’s been a columnist for Network World and has written a book on home networking for consumers. At GigaOM Pro, he oversees overall research efforts and serves as curator for the Connected Consumer.’



Surj Patel, VP of Development
Surj Patel has more than 15 years of experience in the intersection of technology and media. Surj started his career in 1993 at the BBC, where he helped launch the original BBC web site. In later years, he formed an award-winning digital design agency in London, helped establish BBC Imagineering, studied at the MIT Media Laboratory in the Object-Based Media group, and became an Imagineer at the France Telecom/Orange advanced research lab in Cambridge, Mass. He now lives with his young family in Portland, Oregon.



Chancey Mathews, Webmaster
Chancey Mathews, Webmaster, is the technology lead who puts everything together and keeps it running. Chancey worked freelance for several years, providing web development services to clients all over the globe, before taking a full-time position with the GigaOM Network, his No. 1 client.



Dan Burke, Director of Product Management
Dan started working with Internet startups in 1995 and been involved with several successful websites since then. He went from startup-to-public phases with Egreeting.com in 2000, built and sold Photos.com to Jupitermedia in 2003, and played a key product role in positioning AllBusiness.com for sale to Dun & Bradstreet in 2008. Dan brings his wide-ranging skills and experience with him to GigaOM where his is determined to do his best work yet.



Paul Irving, Sales Manager
Paul Irving worked in sales and business development for the last 10 years at various Silicon Valley startups. Before coming to GigaOM, Paul spent four years with LoopNet.com, where he helped build and manage the advertising business. Paul holds a BA in Law & Society from University of California, Santa Barbara.



Nick Basso, Sales Manager
Nick Basso is responsible for helping clients with advertising, business development and events across the entire network. Prior to joining GigaOM, Nick worked for a number of top tier sales organizations, including eBay, PayPal, Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns. Nick has a B.S. in Business from the University of San Francisco and is currently working on his MBA, also at USF.
